  • Achiever of the Week: Literary Jukebox

Ok - So this is just plain cool. For all you teachers out there that just love creating content for your students that is rich and deep - Literary Jukebox is about to be your new favourite thing.  A side project by the creator of ‘brainpickings’ Literary Jukebox gives you a literary quote and matches it with a thematically accurate song.

Imagine where you could go with this?  What a way to teach theme or to re-inforce the idea that everything (and I mean everything) is connected.  My favourite so far is a Dostoyevsky quote “Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” matched with the song “Truth” by Alexander.
